The Diabetes Prevention Law
Brief:
Solution:
The Road Safety Coalition was formed, bringing together government bodies, NGOs, businesses, and policymakers to develop evidence-based solutions. The coalition’s activities included public debates, outdoor campaigns, and media engagement. These efforts aimed to create a long-term road safety culture and influence legislative change.
Results:
By September 2024, the Road Safety Coalition had grown to include 33 organizations, representing government bodies, businesses, NGOs, and key industry players. Significant achievements included the initiation of the draft bill for the “National Road Safety Week” (L482/2024), championed by over 40 MPs from various political parties. This legislative milestone marks a key step toward institutionalizing road safety education in Romania. Public awareness efforts, including targeted outdoor campaigns and media coverage, reached nearly 2 million views, significantly impacting public perception. The coalition’s advocacy contributed to Romania’s improvement in road safety, with the country no longer leading the EU in traffic fatalities by 2023.
